Our Lady of Sorrows School has one of the most extensive athletic programs of any grammar school in the area.

We offer seven (7) different sports:

We belong to the Grammar Independent League (GIL) through which we compete against other area schools in basketball, soccer, softball and volleyball. We also offer competition in cross country and track & field with 4-6 meets per season. In addition, we host instructional clinics for the lower grades in basketball.

We emphasize team-work and good sportsmanship at all ages and we try to encourage a love of sport in our students. To increase participation we have a “no cuts” policy at all levels in our program. Each and every student is welcome to try out a sport and see if they like it, without being anxious about their performance. The important thing is that they take part. We want to ensure that our student athletes have fun, make friends, and take pride in representing Our Lady of Sorrows School.

Our Athletic Department is completely self-funded. To raise funds, we run four big events during the school year:

  • Fall Festival Invitational Cross-Country Meet (October 7, 2017)
  • 10th Annual Bump-Set-Spike Volleyball Tournament (October 21-22, 2017)
  • February Frenzy Basketball Tournament (February 16-25, 2018)
  • OLS Track & Field Invitational Meet (May 12, 2018)
